Hello Shane. My adult son (Tyson) has been my carer for several years now – I am 73, my son is 52. We have been renting at 22 Tenanne St on Russell Island since Feb 23. Possibly I should have contacted you earlier. We found out in April 25 that this property is being sold so ever since then have been diligently seeking a new rental here. Tyson is a trade qualified carpenter – A few years back he personally had a huge construction company in Brisbane sometimes employing 100 subbies & other workers. They worked on many Qld landmarks fabricating & installing aluminium composite panels on Q1 on Gold Coast, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Qld State Archives, Mater & Gold Hospitals to name a few. Tyson as my carer can still work up to 25 hours per week & is just finishing off another new home on the island. Plenty of work here for years to come.
Since Cyclone Alfred on 8.3.25 we have been treated unprofessionally & extremely disrespectufully by L J Hooker Bay Islands who we currently rent from. Our tenancy history if impeccable. Never ever any arrears – currently pd to 24.9.25 – our lease was up on 6.8.25 & on 7.8.25 Hookers took our a warrant of possession – magistrate would only give us till close of biz on 25.9.25 otherwise on 26.9.25 we will be evicted. Can you help please? Our communication with Hookers has been extremely thorough – I have kept copies of my numerous emails to them. They have accused us of lying on more than one occasion when it is their company who have lied. What can u do to help pls? Sincerely, Trisha Rogasch
